Let’s check out the new landmarks that have come up in Connaught Place over the last six months

Often referred to as the heart of the city, Connaught Place (CP) is a reflection of the vintage era, as well as the modern days. The market has been witnessing renovations recently, with many new landmarks coming up. HT City tells you about five new places that have come up in the last six months here.

Manchester United
Fans of the football team Manchester United have a reason to cheer, as Headquarters, a store in Connaught Place, has tied up with the international brand, Manchester United, this month. The supporters of ‘Reds’, as the team is called, can buy T-shirts, shorts, jerseys and more with the team logo on them.

The team colours of red, white and blue dominate the collection. Round neck T-shirts with the team logo in front can be bought for Rs 999. And that’s not all; the store also stocks cool accessories such as key chains (Rs 299), wrist bands (Rs 599) and coffee mugs (Rs 899).

Dunkin Donuts
This popular American chain of cafes has recently opened shop in CP. From the classic glazed donut to chocolate, mango, butterscotch and strawberry, there are more than 20 varieties of doughnuts here, each available for Rs 45 (plus taxes). The affordable rates makes the cafe popular with youngsters.

It gets visitors as early as seven in the morning for breakfast. Weight watchers can dig into croissant sandwiches and shakes for Rs 80 -Rs 100. The environment at Dunkin Donuts is light and cheerful, with bright coloured yellow and red couches and posters on the wall.

Boombox Café
Graffiti on the wall with symbols of a taxi, autorickshaw and music box, and some contemporary tracks being played in the background, makes Boombox Cafe a favourite with art and music lovers. When here, one can gorge on world street cuisines such as Malaysian, African, European, all of which is a part of the menu.

The place is popular with youngsters who throng it for the hookahs available in more than 22 flavours. The dim lighting and dark bold designs on the roof of this place lend a refreshing cool feel on a hot summer afternoon.

Khan Chacha
Connaught Place has a new landmark in the form of the popular kebab corner from Khan Market called Khan Chacha. Situated right next to the Odeon cinema hall in D Block, the eatery offers some of the best kebabs and rolls in the city. If you are lucky, you might even get a parking right in front of the place.

The list of patrons include famous cricketers, whom you might just bump into on one of your visits. The chicken tikka and mutton kakori rolls for Rs 130 are the most popular here. The vegetarians can go for haryali kebabs with or without rolls. The kulfi falooda for Rs 60 will cool you down on a hot summer afternoon.

Sura Vie
Those with a musical ear can head to this three floor resto-bar. The restaurant invites rock bands and contemporary singers from time to time. The thin crust pizzas and pastas (Rs 300 to Rs 500) are the most popular items on the world cuisine menu designed by chef Sanjeev Kapoor.

While the first floor has a complete bar, the second floor is a restaurant with a live performance area in the middle. They also have a separate smoking zone.
