Cricket talent search camp gets underway

A TWO-DAY divisional-level ‘cricket talent search camp’, jointly organised by Sports and Youth Welfare Department and Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) began today at Old Campion Ground.

Recently, Sports Department announced the scheme of ‘cricket talent search camp’ for selecting the talent from across the State. The camp will be organised in various parts of the State. The camps are to be organised at the divisional-level and state-level for the boys and girls in the age group of 10 to 14 years.

On the first day of the camp, over 300 children from Vidisha, Harda, Hoshangabad, Raisen and Sehore participated in the selection trials. However, only four girls turned up for the camp.

When asked, coach Ravi Kohli said that he is expecting more girls on the second day. Three coaches, Ravi Kohli, Sanjiv Rao and Amita Vijayvargiya have been appointed to select the talented players. The list of the finally selected students will be declared on Wednesday.
