Damsels in distress

Not all have been successful in Bollywood, beauty business or modeling are simply scandalous, writes our Feng Shui Master.

Indian beauties are familiar names in my articles as, being a journalist once; I have met many of them. And now as a Feng Shui Master too, some are clients/friends.

Not all have been successful in Bollywood, beauty business or modeling and the behind the scenes reasons are simply scandalous. Like Nigar Khan, who has been deported back to Norway over Visa problems because she is rumored to have refused to entertain a biggie politician, even the real beauties have often been left out and a `chosen one` crowned the queen.

Once, when I was one of the judges for a beauty contest organized by In Mumbai, I suspected foul play. I spread a word to some of the judges (including my friend Kiran Joneja, Ghazal singer Talat Aziz, Pooja Bhatt and some others) to deliberately give `zero` to certain contestant. The zero given by three of us wasn't even reflected in the total points of the same round!)

It was a similar situation for Catherine (name changed to protect the identity) a beautiful girl from Illinois. She ended up being a runner up in a beauty contest. She lost due to a controversial judgment but does not want to get into that messy affair.

"After a bad experience during a beauty contest which I lost and some nasty experiences with agents and producers in Hollywood, I abandoned the thought of becoming an actress. Modeling was still okay but I realized that there was no percentage in it. I did a course and became a fashion designer. Somehow it has not worked out so far. Marriage too is not happening," wrote Catherine.

She e-mailed the floor plan of her shop, acquired the Peak (oil painting) from me for business success and other usual Feng Shui cures, and observed the mirror method to complete an incomplete Opportunities corner. Catherine has never looked back.

"Business is great now. In fact, even my career in modeling has picked up. What amazed me is that I have even got an above board offer to act in a film. It is all thanks to you, thanks to Feng Shui." She wrote to me three months later.

As for Nigar Khan, I only wish she had taken benefit of Feng Shui. A Helpful Friends and Backing corner enhanced by the dragon would have ensured enough backing to her and would have lovingly wiped her tears.
