The danger lurking at public places has marred the spirit of the festival season somewhat. According to Sushila Singh, a housewife,” There was a time when I and my family visited Ramleela pandals and enjoyed the fair, but now due to the uncertain power cuts there is an increase in chain snatchings and eve teasing.

In such a situation, it is very difficult for us to protect ourselves. “

Roshni Chopra, a student of class 12 said, “ How are we going to deal with these eve teasers who can be found in groups at crowded places like Ramleela grounds and fairs? During rostering in the night, the situation is out of control.”

Rashmi Gupta, a bank employee said,” Knowing the condition of police administration in the city, do you really think that it is safe for women to go and watch Ramleela at night? During power cuts at night, how are we going to deal with eve teasers and chain snatchers together?”

According to Priya Talwar, a teacher, “ Ramleela depicts our ancient culture and tradition, prevailing during Satyuga, but the tradition and culture prevailing today have spoilt everything. Now it is really difficult for us to go and watch Ramleela, with the increasing cases of eve teasing, all thanks to our local police administration.”

Nisha Singh, also a housewife, said,” It is dangerous to visit crowded places due to the threats given by different terrorist groups along with eve teasing and chain snatching which are frequent at such places in the night. Of course, how can we forget our electricity department which increases the danger with irregular power cuts. “

Kajal Dubey, a fashion designing student said, “ The condition of Kanpur is getting worse day by day and that is the reason why it is impossible for girls to even go out of the house at night. How can we even think of visiting Ramleela ?

The eve teasers will not let you live in peace and due to the increasing cases of chain snatching it is impossible for us to wear any jewellery and move out of the house. “
Are the police administration and KesCO listening?
