He has been attached to the government and a committee had been establishing to conduct the probe. Principal secretary in Higher Education CS Khanna would conduct the probe. Meanwhile, Sharma said that he had follow the directive of V-C Prof Arun Kumar and the financial work was carried out by the finance officer.
Sources said that Sharma was blamed to overlook the directive of the government and for his alleged involvement in financial irregularities in carrying out the appointments. Sources said acting finance officer Sharma released the payment of Rs 50 lakh to the contractors and daily wages employees.
Besides, he was also blamed for other irregularities including taking double payment for a single journey. It was further mentioned that various enquires were set up against Sharma for his involvement in financial irregularities in Bareilly and other places.
According to a report, the suspension of the registrar had put university officials on tight spot and many others might also face the same action for violation of directive of state government.
A senior members of working committee of Gorakhpur University had made a written complaint before the Chancellor claiming the university authorities for violating the rules set by University Grant Commission.
