He was addressing a seminar on Women's Health and Ayurveda at the Jeevan Jyoti Hospital here on Sunday.

Justice Shukla said Well Women's Clinic was a novel idea to ensure good health to women in different stages of life. The women also need to remain conscious towards their health, he said.

Guest of honour Prof BR Tripathi stressed on the importance of Ayurveda in modern treatment. "The society is accepting the benefits of Ayurveda. The Ayurvedic medicines are also very effective in chronic diseases," he said.

Senior Gynaecologist Dr Vandana Bansal while welcoming the guests shed light on the concept of Well Women's Clinic. She said the women's health was the back bone of every family, society and the nation. "If women are healthy, the family, society and the entire nation will progress," she added.

Ayurvedacharya Dr SK Rai discussed the role of Ayurveda and Panchakarma in treatment of chronic diseases. He also cited examples of chronic patients who were cured by Ayurveda treatment. He said Ayurveda was a way of life, as it teaches the balance between Ahar, Nidra and other factors of life.

Social worker Jamunotri Devi appreciated the hospital and its efforts in bringing standard health treatment in this part of the region. She also urged the women to be health conscious and be the part of the Well Women's Club. Lokesh Meena said it is very important to be healthy and make people health conscious. She appreciated Dr Vandana Bansal for her innovative ideas and concepts for the welfare of women. Dr Anjula Sahai informed the audience about the activities in the Well Women's Club and Clinic.

Dr AK Bansal proposed a vote of thanks. He said a doctor should remain open to all kinds of new treatments, in order to provide better health care facility to the patients. Dr Alok Khare and Vidya Gupta conducted the programme.
