This information was furnished by the University Grants Commission as well as the University of Delhi, Minister of State for HRD MAA Fatmi said in a written reply.

He said while there is no ban on appointment of teaching staff in the colleges affiliated to the University, with regard to appointment of non-teaching staff the UGC has constituted a Committee to examine the filling up of vacant non-teaching posts.

Based on the recommendations of the said Committee, the government has recently approved filling up of 42 posts falling under the category of staff essential for supporting teaching and research in Delhi colleges, Fatmi said.
