Starting 2006, the courses will be available to all Delhi University undergraduates. While offering remedial courses to students from less advantageous backgrounds is something of a norm in many US and UK universities, Delhi University is yet to wake up to the responsibility.

IITs are the only national-level institutions which offer preparatory courses for reserved category students. Under the 10th Plan, colleges can seek monetary help from University Grants Commission (UGC) for conducting remedial courses. Dyal Singh, however, was the only college to apply for assistance.
