Soon after their arrival at the Jayaprakash Narayan International airport here, the teams left for Siwan and Bettiah.

While a two-member fact-finding team of the Commission comprising its secretary Sanga Ram and additional secretary Ashish Chakravorty, left for Siwan to probe the irregularities, another team comprising the Commission's advisor KJ Rao and secretary NN Butolia went to Bettiah to make on-the-spot inquiry into the complaints of rigging.

CPI-ML(L) had complained to the Commission that the goons of the RJD member of the dissolved Lok sabha Mohammed Shahabuddin unleashed large-scale silent rigging in Siwan parliamentary constituency. Amar Nath Yadav is the CPI-ML(L) candidate for Siwan.

Noted film-maker and independent candidate Prakash Jha had accused the RJD and BJP of indulging in booth capturing in Bettiah lok sabha constituency.
