Egg, chicken fair in TN to dispel bird flu fears

The fair is to assure that the state is free from avian flu and that there is no harm in consuming chicken or eggs.

A free egg and chicken cuisine fair is being organised on Friday at Namakkal, Tamil Nadu's largest centre of poultry farming, in a bid to reassure that the state was "bird flu free".

Different preparations using egg and chicken would be served free of cost at the fair, Tamil Nadu Poultry Farmers Association President R Nallathampi told said.

He reassured that "the state was free from avian flu and that there was no harm in consuming chicken or eggs".

State Animal Husbandry Minister PV Damaodaran, Secretary Sevakanth, Director Palanivelu would be some of the government representatives participating at the occasion.
