What do you start the day with ?
I have a great dietician, Pooja Makhija. When I’m a good girl I listen to her, when I’m bad, I don’t. Usually, I wake up to a cup of tea and, within the next hour, I sit down to a breakfast of an egg white omelette and toast.

And what do you end your day with?
Grilled chicken or fish, soup, salad and a cup of green tea.

On a date what would you like to be wooed with?
I’m a cheap date. I’m happy with one glass of wine, a light meal and no dessert.

If you were marooned on an island what would you want?
I’d take along boxes of matches. Then, I could light a fire and roast some fish.

When you eat out what do you inevitably order?
Salad and grilled fish.

What do you serve guests who drop by?
I’m a great host and it’s a different, three-four course meal each time.. Thai, Indian or Continental.

What has been your most memorable experiment with food?
I have a house in Goa, I go there frequently so I can dine at some of my favourite restaurants like Sublime, Litterati, Pomras, La Plage and I95. The food is to die for.

What is the yuckiest thing you have ever tasted?
Karela juice.

One food item you can't do without?
Eggs.. boring but that’s what I usually have for breakfast.

What do you cool down with in summer?
Fresh cucumber juice.. it’s so refreshing!

What do you like to munch on when there's a nip in the air?
Actually, I’d prefer a hot cup of tea.

As a child is there something you had to have every day?
French fries and ketchup.. now they are strictly no-no but I still crave them.

What is your favourite dessert?

Mmm.. Tiramisu.

A roadside favourite?

Is there a festival that you associate with food?
Not really, I consciously stay away from rich, fatty food and festivals can be dangerous because they invite you to binge.

If you opened a specialty restaurant, where would it be and what would it serve?
Definitely Goa, outdoors, and it would serve everything from Indian to Continental. But it would open only in the evening because I would be on the beach all day, getting myself a tan.

Do you have a specialty dish?
I can whip up scrambled eggs and lots of salads. And some day, I want to learn how to make Kaukswe, a Burmese noodle dish.

Do you have a miracle diet?
Yeah, go low on carbohydrates.

If you could choose your last meal what would you order?
A Chocolate Fondue because this once the guilt wouldn’t kill me.
