A female elephant was shot down by some unidentified persons in Yadavanadu forest area in Kodagu district last night, forest officials said.

A female elephant was shot down by some unidentified persons in Yadavanadu forest area in Kodagu district last night, forest officials said.
"It could be the handiwork of some poachers", officials said, adding, hunt is on for them.
