Enjoying being wicked
After Bollywood films and commercials, Arzoo Govitrikar now tries her hand at playing the "bad girl" on telly.
She has walked the ramp, done a couple of Bollywood films like Let’s Enjoy and Dreams, besides commercials for Sunsilk, Panteen etc. And now Arzoo Govitrikar has joined the league of “bad girls” on TV with her role in Ek Ladki Anjani Si on Sony.
Excerpts from a chat: Tell us about your role in Ek Ladki Anjani Si? The serial revolves around a girl who gets artificially inseminated by accident. I play the character of Tullika, the bitchy wife who is insecure about her husband as they can’t have a baby naturally.
Initially, it was tough to play the negative role, as I had to fight myself to think like Tullika. But now I enjoy it.
How did you bag the role?
I was selected after a lengthy screen test.
How is it on the sets of Ek Ladki Anjani Si?
Everyone on the sets is a sweetheart. We have lots of fun, which lets us sail through long shooting hours. Was your entry into the glamour world planned?
No. Actually I am an engineer by qualification. But I was awestruck by all the attention my sister (model Aditi Govitrikar) got. I started doing commercials and Priyadarshan offered me a role in a Malayalam movie, Kakakayull.
