Parking On Weekdays/Weekends: Difficult during the wedding season. But the efficient valets take care of the parking hiccups.

Part of a bustling complex that has a bowling alley, banquet hall and a convenio, Essex, the restaurant, has the rudest, most boorish service anywhere in the city. The food, thankfully, is better – at least the unpretentious North Indian section (the Continental offerings sounds too bombastic to be true).

Nevertheless, this is one place packed round the clock, so obviously there's some secret ingredient that eludes us.
