Eye camp for air force officers

A FREE eye check-up camp was organised for air force personnel at Station Medicare Centre, Air Force Station, Bamrauli.

As many as 300 personnel including civilians, ex-servicemen and families got themselves examined by renowned eye specialist, Dr N Rahman. Various procedures like fundoscopy, tonometery and refractometery were also carried out. People were given free medicine and their eyes tested for visual acuity by an optometerist.

Wg Cdr Sanjeev Sood, Senior Medical Officer of Air Force Station Bamrauli educated the people about promotion of eye health and common eye diseases.

He stated approximately 10 million people were visually impaired in India. He encouraged people to donate their cornea after death.

More than 25 lakh Indians need corneal graft to restore their vision through grafting.
