Virgin Atlantic went to great lengths to make their fourth birthday celebrations a success. The anniversary bash on Wednesday evening comprised a Satya Paul fashion show and a live performance by Edwin and the Bandwagon, besides a sumptuous dinner at the Durbar Hall, Taj Palace.

In spite of an average collection, the models and the lively choreography by Lisa Verma resurrected the fashion show somehow. The collection, designed by Punit Nanda, an in-house designer for the brand, was inspired by the freedom of the skies. “I’ve tried to bring in the openness of the sky find reflection in the clothes by using light colours,” says Nanda.
The happiest man that evening appeared to be Virgin Atlantic India general manager Andrew Fyfe, “The best thing about collection is the sari. It is a sexy outfit and the light colours in the collection only enhance the beauty of the outfit.”
The models included Sampada Inamdar, Ayesha Prem and HT City discovery Sharan Mishra. “The evening did not live up to our expectations. We were expecting better stuff from Virgin,” said McCann copy supervisor Ritu Sharda. She could have been speaking for most of the guests.
