Fifth Dakar win for Peterhansel with cars

Peterhansel, leading the race since the second stage on Jan. 6, became the most successful driver in the world's toughest rally with his fifth victory in cars to go along with a record six on a motorbike. He dedicated his win to Jean-Claude Olivier, the team manager during his motorbike victories who died in a traffic accident in France last weekend.

World superbike round postponed
New Delhi: India's inaugural round of the World Superbike Championship has been postponed from March 10 to November 17. Following a training seminar held by the championship's world governing body (FIM), it was adjudged that further training of the marshalls and medical staff at the Buddh International Circuit - which remains the venue for the round - required further training for the event to go ahead. The provisional calendar lists the round as the season ender as of now.

Loeb remains king of Monte Carlo
Monaco: World champion Sebastian Loeb, in a Citroen, clinched a seventh Monte Carlo Rally title on Saturday after heavy snow and driving rain caused the race's last two stages to be cancelled. Compatriot Sebastien Ogier, in Volkswagen, took second place as Loeb netted a 77th career win.
