Financial bids opened: MCG to award sanitation contract

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) on Tuesday opened the financial bids for awarding contracts for sanitation work in the city.

The civic body had opened the technical bid on April 17. The MCG had invited applications through e-tendering for its sanitation work for all the four zones of the city in April.
The bid was opened in the presence of members of the sanitation committee and the directors-cum-proprietors of the four companies. The lowest bid in the four zones was made by Sri Balaji Security Services while the highest was that of AG Environment.
“There are some formal procedures which would be sent to the head office in Chandigarh and after that, work would be allotted to us,” said the director of Balaji Security Services, adding that being the lowest bidder, his company deserves this project.
However, Anju Chaudhary, joint commissioner (headquarter), MCG, said the committee, which is looking into the e-tendering, will take a decision.
“Hopefully by Friday, MCG commissioner Sudhir Rajpal will declare the result,” he added.
“It is not necessary that the lowest bidder will get the contract in all the four zones, rather the commissioner would see whether one or more companies are required for the vast MCG areas,” Chaudhary said.
Four companies—Sri Balaji Security Services, Perfect Manpower, International Academy and AG Environment— had qualified the technical bids.
Sri Balaji Security Services is already involved in sanitation works in the city. Many councillors had raised questions on its performance.
The Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) had also disqualified it in April.
