FIR against policeman, four others for kicking Dalit woman

An FIR has been lodged against five persons including a police constable for allegedly kicking a pregnant Dalit woman which resulted in the death of her unborn twins, police said in Kanpur.

An FIR has been lodged against five persons including a police constable for allegedly kicking a pregnant Dalit woman which resulted in the death of her unborn twins, police said in Kanpur on Friday.

The incident took place two days ago at Ghatampur area of the city when policeman Ram Milan arrived to solve an altercation between two groups and allegedly kicked Somwati.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Lal Bahadur said DIG Neera Rawat has ordered Ram Milan to be shifted to police lines services and an FIR has been lodged five people in this connection.

The woman, who along with her father-in-law arrived at the DIG's office on Thursday with the dead foetuses to lodge a complaint, was admitted to Ursla hospital.
