Activists of the Samajwadi Lohia Vahini took out a motorcycle procession, ‘Chetavni Yatra’, to register their protest against the price hike in petroleum products.
Chairman of Gau Sewa Commission, Dr. KP Yadav flagged off the ‘chetavani yatra’ from Harishchandra ghat.
Dr. Yadav strongly criticised the Union government for price hike in petrol and diesel. He said that common people were already suffering due to increasing rate of food grains and other essential commodities.
“Therefore, the recent price hike in petroleum products would increased the miseries of common people,” he said.
Similarly, activists of Kashi Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal staged demonstration and burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora at Gaudaulia crossing to lodge their protest against the recent price hike in the petroleum products.
