Gujarat: BJP MLA Jetha Bharwad shot at in Panchmahal

BJP candidate and a close aide of Narendra Modi, Jetha Bharvad was shot in Sahera constituency of Panchmahal district of Gujarat today as the state votes in the second phase of assembly elections.

BJP candidate and a close aide of Narendra Modi, Jetha Bharvad was shot in Sahera constituency of Panchmahal district of Gujarat on Monday as the state votes in the second phase of assembly elections.

According to reports, he and three other people have been injured in the firing. At least eight bullets were fired by unknown people at Bharwad and his associates.

Bharwad, considered to be a very close aide of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, was one of the two BJP MLAs accused of watching porn in the state assembly a few months back.

A journalist with a regional newspaper on March 20, 2012 had complained to the Speaker that the two were watching sleazy pictures during House proceedings.
