HC notice to ASI on Bade Baba sculpture

MP HIGH Court here today granted two weeks to the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to file reply on the Shri Digamber Jain Atishay Chhetra Kundalpur Public Trust?s application for permission to construct dome on the new structure where the Bade Baba (Bhagwan Adinath) sculpture has been recently shifted in Damoh.

MP HIGH Court here today granted two weeks to the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to file reply on the Shri Digamber Jain Atishay Chhetra Kundalpur Public Trust’s application for permission to construct dome on the new structure where the Bade Baba (Bhagwan Adinath) sculpture has been recently shifted in Damoh.

The Trust filed the application on grounds that the sculpture needs to be protected from sunlight and bad weather conditions. The court on January 18 last directed to maintain status quo at the temple site.

Justice Shubhada Vaghmare granted fortnight time to the ASI to file reply on the Trust’s application to vacate stay so that further construction be carried out to protect the Bade Baba sculpture from sunlight and safeguard from bad weather.
