Twenty20 is not only the youngest format of the game, but it is the fastest as well. Thus, youngsters are an integral part of the high-octane Indian Premier League (IPL). And what better than the fresh legs of the under-19 players to provide the added zest to the teams?

Apart from teams being injected with a dash of energy, the IPL provides the youngsters with an opportunity to perform on the big stage. They have the chance to shine in front of massive crowds, besides playing amongst international stalwarts.

In the inaugural edition, the teams lapped up Virat Kohli's 2008 U-19 World Cup winning squad. A similar trend ensued after the 2010 edition. While Unmukt Chand has been a part of the IPL for the last two seasons, his teammates shot to prominence after the 2012 WC win.
