Hizb terrorist gunned down in J&K

A Hizbul Mujaheedin terrorist was killed by security forces and one LeT terrorist arrested in J&K.

A Hizbul Mujaheedin terrorist was gunned down by security forces in Ramban district and a Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist was arrested in Doda district of J&K, police said in Jammu on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint police team and Border Security Force launched a search operation in the Sumber area and shot dead the terrorist in an encounter.

One AK assault rifle along with some ammunition and one wireless set were seized from the slain terrorist, whose identity was being ascertained.

Police arrested the alleged LeT terrorist, Mohammad Akbar Qureshi from Kithar area of Doda district on Tuesday night.

Qureshi was said to be involved in robbing weapons from Kishtwar police station earlier, the police said.
