Homoeopathy goes hi-tech
THE END at times marks a new beginning as it happened in case of forty-five-year-old Archana (name changed), suffering with a chronic headache since last 25 years. THE END at times marks a new beginning as it happened in case of forty-five-year-old Archana (name changed), suffering with a chronic headache since last 25 years. She had almost finished telling her symptoms to the homoeopath when unknowingly she revealed that the headache was always accompanied by hunger pangs.

Little did she realize that this small piece of information actually had the key to her problem. But it did the trick for Dr A K Dwivedi, who with the help of a software programme, was able to pinpoint the exact cause of her pain and gave her the medicine- 50-millicemal potency powder like substance.
Dr Dwivedi, who has done his MD (Repertory) from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Aurangabad, Maharashtra), has become the first homoeopath in the City to utilise this technique, which can be used to treat any and every chronic ailments for all age groups.
“The main advantage of this technique is it saves a lot of time. Earlier, the homoeopaths used to spend a lot of time listening to every possible symptom and then spend another round searching for the correct medicine in those heavy volumes.
Though useful, it took a lot of time but now with the help of this Repertory, we can cut down time drastically,” Dr Dwivedi, who is also a member of Board of Studies of Homoeopathy at Devi Ahilya University (DAVV) here, told a press conference today.
The software is basically a compilation of minute details about all the ailments that can be treated using homoeopathy. If a person is suffering from hair loss, the software suggests the line of treatment considering factors like which portion is exposed — top of the head or temples, what is the time when it is noticed most and other such symptoms, making it a pinpointed search. The patient is then given the high potency medicine, which, Dr Dwivedi claims is more accurate way of treatment.
Asked if there are any chances of the software being misused, he said “as it is, anybody who can lay hands on homoeopathy books is practicing it at a personal level. Why does the administration not look into such issues?”
“Supposing a Unani practitioner administers steroids, the administration takes action against such persons calling them quacks. But nothing is being done about persons who practice homoeopathy without any proper degree,” rued the homoeopath, who is the recipient of the ‘Dhanwantri Award’ and the ‘Chikitsak Ratna Award’.
All these facilities are available at his `Advanced Homoeo-Health Centre on Geeta Bhavan Main Road.
