"Whatever development was taking in the state was mainly under the centrally sponsored schemes like Prime Minister's Gramin Sadak Yojana, which have brought about a revolution in rural areas," Himachal BJP President Suresh Bharadwaj told reporters here.
Bharadwaj said the party would contest the Lok Sabha elections in the name of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Successive Congress governments have neglected the rural areas for more than four decades and it was the present Prime Minister who had the "vision and the will" to transform rural India into developed India by laying a special stress on village infrastructure.
Bharadwaj said the BJP would expose the hollow claims of the state government regarding development.
