I should've come to the party: Flintoff
"A score of 275 would have been a good one... I should've come to the party," admitted Eng captain.india Updated: Apr 06, 2006 20:11 IST
Havingconceded the series to India, the England skipperAndrew Flintoffrapped his own knuckles for the Kochi ODI loss on Thursday, saying that he should have come to the partywhen Pietersen wasblazing at the other end.
It is important to put up a big total in India. We have not scored enough runs. Pietersen played well on couple of occasions and I should have come to the party for a big total," admitted the captain.
Freddie felt that a score of 275 would have given them a chance in the match.
"We played well in the first half. Pietersen was playing well but we lost wickets during the powerplay. A score of 275 would have been a good one," he said
He said the failure of batsmen to put up a big score cost them the series, but they will fight hard for the remaining encounters.
"We are 4-0 down but we are trying to compete and we will continue to do that in rest of the series as well."
