IIIT-A cultural meet from Oct 27

HUNDREDS OF alumni of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A) will take part in the first-ever ?Reunion Meet? and a three-day annual cultural extravaganza, Effervescence- 2006.

The institute will hold the programme on its campus from October 27. IIIT-A director Dr MD Tiwari said, preparations for Effervescence were in full swing. On-line events will begin from October 25 and other events will take place on the campus from October 27 to 29.

“With an enthusiastic response being received from all the illustrious alumni, the congregation promises to become an event of unmatched grandeur. Over 200 alumni have already given their consent to take part in the event. They will interact with the faculty and students on a common platform,” Dr Tiwari added.

IIIT-A’s annual fest draws a large number of students from the areas that are adjacent to the city. Another interesting fact of Effervescence-MMVI is the provision of live web casting that would enable users around the world to watch the on-campus events, he added.
