India, Venezuela leading beauty race!

In the pleasant city of Warsaw, temperatures are soaring high. Reason: 104 beautiful women from around the world have gathered to vie for the prestigious Miss World 2006 crown!

As the preliminary rounds kick off, the supporters of Miss India have more than one more reasons to smile and be optimistic. Miss India Natasha Suri has narrowly missed two titles - the Beach Wear and Dress designer round.
While Miss Venezuela stole the show during the bikini round, Natasha Suri ( SEE PICS ) came a close second (first runner-up). In the Dress Designer round, the Indian beauty has stood third, just behind Miss Croatia and Miss Netherlands.
Other runner-ups at the 'Beach Beauty' event are:
Second Runner-up: Czech Republic, Tatiana Kucharova
Third Runner-up: Angola, Stiviandra Oliveira
Fourth Runner-up: Singapore, Colleen Pereira
Apart from the bikini blast and dress design rounds, winners for 'Miss Sports' has also been declared. Miss Canada grabbed the title for this event. First Runner-up is PUERTO RICO, Thebyam Carrion and second Runner-up is LATVIA, Liga Meinarte.
Other fast track preliminary rounds include Miss Talent and Beauty With A Purpose. Results for which are yet to be out.
The beauty race is becoming a rage every minute among betters and voters. The Bookmakers' bets (One of the oldest bet makers since 1951 when Miss World started) suggest that Venezuela, India are the most promising candidates for the crown. According to Betfair agency, India tops the beauty list. Also, the voting meter at Miss World suggests that India is leading from the Asia region.
