Zakirbhai Shaikh, 35, was arrested in Leicester, when police raided his property and found a passport bearing a false name and a fake Belgian driving licence.

Shaikh admitted of possessing false identification at the Leicester Crown Court, where Judge Simon Hammond ordered him to be deported to India after serving six months of a 12-month sentence.

He said: "The defendant has not been a burden on the state and now wishes to go back to India. There's great anxiety about people using false documents and it's extremely serious."
