Islamic scholar passes away

DISTINGUISH ISLAMIC scholar Maulana Abdullah Abbas Nadwi passed away at Mecca in Saudi Arabia after prolonged illness on Sunday. Author of several books on the Quran, Hadith and the Shariate being taught in educational/religious institutions across the world, the octogenarian cleric, was a teacher at the Ummul Quran University in Saudi Araba and was also associated with the Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema here.

A special prayer service was held at the Nadwa College here to pay homage to the cleric. Offering their heart-felt condolences, President of All India Muslim Personal Law Board Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadwi and Nadwa principal Maulana Saidur Rehman Nadwi recalled the contribution and achievements of Maulana Abbas in the field of education.
