A civilian was allegedly kidnapped by suspected terrorists in Rajouri district on Tuesday afternoon.
Rajouri police chief Haseeb Mughal said family members of Sanjay Kumar had lodged a complaint at Kalakote police station that they were not able to contact him (Sanjay) after the incident.
The SSP said that Sanjay worked in the thick forest area that could be reached after a three-hour trek. The family members said that Sanjay’s phone had been switched off soon after he told them that he had seen two persons in the forest.
Meanwhile, police, army and members of the village defence committee have begun a search for Sanjay.
The SSP said it was not certain if Sanjay had been kidnapped by terrorists as there had not been any movement of terrorists in the area in the past six years.
