J&K: Jugal Kishore Sharma is new BJP president

The state BJP on Saturday elected Jugal Kishore Sharma as state president of Jammu and Kashmir.

The state BJP on Saturday elected Jugal Kishore Sharma as state president of Jammu and Kashmir.

For conducting the election for the post, BJP national spokesperson and member of Parliament Rajiv Pratap Rudy had been deputed by the party high Command, who was assisted by state prabhari Jagdish Mukhi and She Prabhari Anil Jain.

The election took place peacefully and there was no contest and only Jugal Kishore Sharma's nomination papers were filed, who was declared elected unopposed by Rudy in a function held at party headquarters on Saturday.

Addressing the party activists, Rudy reaffirmed and reiterated the cordial and family environment in the party where the workers are vested with various responsibilities under different positions unanimously and with consensus.

Jugal Kishore Sharma, while expressing gratitude to the entire leadership of the party and activists, said the entire leadership of the state was supporting him and the party would continue to function as a single iron fist. Former state president Shamsher Singh Manhas expressed his thanks to the party for giving him an opportunity to serve the party as its head. He said during his tenure it was ensured that the issues facing the state were raised more vigorously and he got success with full cooperation of the party cadre.
