Acting on a tip-off, police raided a place under Pharaiya police station and arrested Ranjan Yadav, declared an absconder in the case.

The 24-year-old Japanese tourist was gangraped when she was going to Gaya station from Bodh Gaya to catch a train on April 16, 2010 on an autorickshaw.

Five persons were named accused in the case and police had succeeded in arresting three of them who have already been convicted through speedy trial within a fortnight of the incident.

Ranjan Yadav was evading arrest since then.

The police said that they have intensified operation to arrest the fifth one involved in the case.
