Jayalalithaa expels nine Dharmapuri partymen

AIADMK general secretary and chief minister Jayalalithaa on Sunday expelled nine party functionaries of Dharmapuri District for working to defeat the party's official nominee in the Lok Sabha polls.

AIADMK general secretary and chief minister Jayalalithaa on Sunday expelled nine party functionaries of Dharmapuri District for working to defeat the party's official nominee in the Lok Sabha polls.

"They are expelled from all the positions they hold including basic membership for betraying the party by working in various ways to defeat the party nominee," Jayalalithaa said in a statement here.

The expelled functionaries include T R Anbalagan, former secretary of J Jayalalithaa Peravai, A Govindasamy, former Dharmapuri Union party secretary and C Palani, district joint secretary of MGR Mandram.

PMK's Anbumani Ramadoss won the Dharmapuri Lok Sabha constituency defeating AIADMK'S P S Mohan.
