"The state is capable of effectively containing extremist violence. Anti-Naxal operations are on," Soren said told the state Assembly in reply to a query by Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric) MLA Pradip Yadav on whether the state has taken any decision to launch 'Operation Green Hunt' against Maoists.
The Centre had proposed for a joint operation with other states against the extremists and "we have to do it (fight against the rebels)", he said.
Soren on February 9 had skipped a meeting convened by Union Home minister P Chidambaram in Kolkata to discuss the Maoists issue.
