K'taka polls: JDS releases second list

JDS releases its second list of ten candidates for the first phase of election to be held on May 10 in Karnataka.

JDS on Tuesday released its second list of ten candidates for the first phase of election to be held on May 10 in Karnataka.

The party has re-nominated assembly speaker Krishna in the Krishnarajpet constituency and cleared its working president C Narayanswamy for Byatarayanapura seat in Bangalore city.

Others to figure in the list are: H S Prakash (Hassan), Basavegowda (Chamundeswari),Mahadev (Piriyapatna), Shankarappa (Malleswara),Aswaq Ahmed (Shivajinagar),Vishwanath (Yashwantpur),C Doddnayak (Heggadadevana Kote) and Lion Pratap (Chamaraja).

Party spokesman YSV Datta said candidates in the constituencies that go to polls in the first phase and which has not been announced would be cleared by this evening.

On Monday JDS released its first list of 64 candidates.

Meanwhile, party leader and former Prime Minister HD Devegowda speaking to media persons ruled out his party entering into alliance with any political outfit.

He urged his partymen to bury differences if any and strive for the success of party candidates.
