There’s something about producer-director Sanjay Gupta that makes controversy his middle name. Whichever film he makes, he has to court controversy. And there’s something about writer-director Anurag Kashyap, which also makes him a very controversial guy.

Remember how he had fallen out with the producer of his maiden directorial venture, Paanch? So one was sure when Sanjay hired Kashyap to write his Musafir, that the film wouldn’t be complete without some controversy. But it happened sooner than anybody could imagine. Much before the film has gone on the sets, allegations are flying in different directions.

Gupta has accused Anurag of unfair business practice and unprofessional behaviour. And once again, the allegation relates to the same paanch figure. Sanjay Gupta has alleged that Kashyap is not returning the Rs. 5 lakh he (Gupta) had paid him to script Musafir even though he had terminated his contract before Kashyap started writing the screenplay.

Musafir is to star Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. Anurag Kashyap is also producing and directing another film, Allwyn Kalicharan, with Anil in the title role.
