KLNLF ultra shot dead by army in Assam

A Karbi Longri National Liberation Front militant was shot dead by the army in Assam's Karbi Anglong hill district.

A Karbi Longri National Liberation Front (KLNLF) militant was shot dead by the army in Assam's Karbi Anglong hill district.

On a tip off, the army raided Burasingti village under Dokmoka police station late last night and shot dead the ultra holed up there, police said.

One Improvised Explosive Device (IED), fitted with timer, one nine mm pistol and 13 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the militant.

The slain ultra was identified as Joyram Rongpi (42).
