The 203-page English edition guide deals with basics that many educated parents tend to ignore. It has a chapter on aptitude test that helps a student decide on the stream. The guide is available in Marathi and Urdu as well.
Apart from regular technical, engineering and medical course and the in stitute offering them in the country, the guide has information on non-conventional courses specialising in retail industry, insurance and sport (cricket).
The book also has a section on educational loans that a student can avail from nationalised banks and tips on summer jobs.
The brain behind the guidebook is Revenue Minister's younger son Nitesh Rane. "Our purpose is to tell students and parents what to choose from various courses," he said. "Since there is a dearth of such guiding material, we decided to make it available at a token price."
