Laloo wins Chapra LS seat

The RJD chief and Railway Minister defeated his nearest BJP rival Rajiv Pratab Rudy by over 70,000 votes, delivering the final punch on NDA.

For RJD chief Laloo Pasad Yadav, the victory in Chapra is a mission accomplished.

After decimating old rival Sharad Yadav in Madhepura, the Chapra victory is like the icing on the cake. He defeated BJP candidate Rajiv Pratap Rudy by over 70,000 votes. The margin of victory, however, is less than what Laloo may have expected.

Rudy was gracious in defeat. He said, in democracy, one must accept the voters’ verdict.

The big question now is which seat will Laloo retain. There are indications that he would prefer to keep Madhepura which means Rudy can try his luck again.
