Dimapur Deputy Commissioner, Maongwati Aier in a notification issued on Wednesday urged all people whose village areas might be touched by the preliminary survey for the proposed railway line, to extend co-operation so that the goal to extend railway network to the capital town could be achieved.

The joint survey comprising gaon burhas (GBs), village council chairmen and land owners would begin from February 23 with Nagarjan in Dimapur town as starting point and appealed to the public not to disturb the survey team as it was only a preliminary survey.

The DC said the pillars so erected by the survey team in the proposed railway line should be taken care by the local residents, adding shifting of such posts would result in restarting the whole exercise from beginning.

Dimapur SP has been urged deployment of NAP or IRB personnel for safety of the survey team for the project proposed during NDA regime, but no progress was made so far since land requisition had been a problem.
