Longoria foils bid on US president's life!

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria may not fit the description of a bodyguard, but it seems that that’s not enough to stop her from saving the US president’s life in her upcoming new movie TheSentinel.

Longoria, who plays a no-nonsense Secret Service agent stumbles onto a presidential assassination plot her first day on the job in the movie. The movie which also stars Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland, said that she had taken up the movie as it had not only challenged her skills as an actress, but because it was as different from her Desperate Housewives character as chalk and cheese.

“I wanted something that was going to challenge me in a different way, and this political action-thriller was as opposite as you can get from the show. [My character] is ambitious and wants to move up in the world based on her talent and skills, not on her looks,” the New York Daily News quoted her, as saying.
