Lovers attempt suicide
A couple allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison after their families opposed their alliance at Basi Kala village in the district in Muzaffarnagar, police said on Wednesday.

A couple allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison after their families opposed their alliance at Basi Kala village in the district in Muzaffarnagar, police said on Wednesday.
Ramesh and Rekha tried to commit suicide on Tuesday as their families were against their union, they said.
The girl had eloped with Ramesh three days ago but returned on Tuesday. She was threatened by her family members with dire consequences.
The couple has been admitted in a nearby hospital at Shahpur in serious condition.
