Two trainee pilots and a technician were killed when a Cheetah helicopter of the army crashed.

Two trainee pilots and a technician were killed when a Cheetah helicopter of the army crashed in the vicinity of Gandhinagar airstrip on Friday, police said.

The helicopter crashed at 3.30pm in a defence area, four km from here, while on a test flight.

The three victims, whose charred bodies were pulled out of the debris, were identified as Maj Rohit Yadav (29), Maj Rodakiya Chakrabarty (24) -- both trainee pilots -- and M D Goti (tecnician), police said.

Earlier reports had said that a pilot and two trainers were killed.
