THE UTTAR Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) today demanded that the transcripts and the CDs of Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh’s tapped telephonic conversation be made public or else the Congress would use the provisions of Right to Information Act to make them public.

UPCC Chief Spokesman Akhilesh Pratap Singh talking to mediapersons here, said Amar Singh had crossed all limits of dignity and decorum, while levelling allegations against the Congress leadership. In order to set the record straight, the Delhi police should make contents of the CDs public, he said adding Amar Singh should either make his stand clear and come out openly about his accusations, or else, he should tender an apology to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue.

Singh listed statements made by Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh on the phone tapping issue and said the two leaders have made baseless allegations against Congress leaders. The people have shown their place to those who have made such baseless allegations in the past, he said.

Instead of fighting communal forces and the BJP, the CM was busy fighting the Congress that was the first to commit its support at the time of formation of his government.
