A leading danseuse and social activist Mallika Sarabhai on Wednesday joined Aam Admi Party (AAP) in Gujarat.
A staunch critic of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and the first to file a PIL in the Supreme Court on the 2002 riots, Mallika has been active in raising social and political issues in Gujarat.
She had contested the 2009 parliamentary polls as an independent candidate against LK Advani from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. “We will all work together to strengthen the AAP network in Gujarat to expose failures of the state government,” she said while joining the new party.
