A man brutally murdered his wife and two minor children and set ablaze their bodies to destroy the evidence in a village in Jalandhar.

A man brutally murdered his wife and two minor children and set ablaze their bodies to destroy the evidence in a village in Jalandhar, police said on Saturday.

Police said Tarsem attacked his wife with a blunt weapon on her head killing her on the spot. Later, he killed his two sons, ten-year old Gurwinder Singh and eight years old Harwinder Singh.

He later burnt their bodies by setting a gas cylinder on fire.

Police said Tarsem, who apparently had strained relations with his wife, confessed to the crime after being put to sustained questioning. He was arrested and a case lodged against him.
