Heavily armed naxals on Monday attacked a police team in Bihar’s Nawada district, with some policemen feared dead in the shootout.
Extremists suspected to belong to the banned CPI(Maoist) attacked a police team headed by officer in-charge of Kauwakol police station Rameshwar Ram near Mahuliatand village, close to Jharkhand border, police said.
Nawada Deputy Superintendent of Police, heaquarters, Shahid Ahmed, who rushed to the spot with reinforcements, told PTI quoting unconfirmed reports that some policemen were killed in the encounter.
