Maulana Abdul Kasum was on Friday nominated as the acting Vice Chancellor of the Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Deoband in Muzaffarnagar.

The decision follows the death of the seminary Vice Chancellor Maulana Marghoobur Rahman on Wednesday.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor Maulana Abdul Khalik Madrasi said a meeting of the managing body of the seminary would be held on January 11, 2011, at Deoband to choose the new Vice Chancellor.
